Woman's Dress Caught - Boyfriend Watches Nonchalantly

It is not only children who get their shoes dangerously stuck in the gaps at the sides of escalators. Even grown-ups like this woman in her long white dress that do it, as STOMPer Antonio witnessed yesterday at Raffles City.

He saw the woman struggling frantically as her long dress got snagged in the gap at the side of the elevator leading up from the Raffles Place Marketplace.

It was the fast action of the shopping mall’s maintenance people that was impressive, contrasting sharply with her Caucasian boyfriend, who appeared either extremely calm or extremely useless (depending on how you want to view the situation).

He just stood idly by as the Raffles City maintenance men fetched scissors to cut the snagged hem of the long dress.

It wasn’t an easy task as the hem had bunched up, making it thought to cut through. In the midst of all this, the boyfriend just stood aside, probably he was embarrassed by the attention and the stares of the crowd watching the entire thing. At one point, he was even reading a brochure.

“So useless! What happened to chivalry? He should have taken the scissors, got down to his knees and start snipping away,” said Antonio.

After about 15 minutes, the scissors did its job and the woman was free.

Here’s a warning to all women from Antonio: ‘If you wear a long dress, stand in the middle of he escalator. Of course, if you want to avoid this, wear shorts, which is why shorts is so popular amongst Singapore women — and the guys love it as well.’

For Real?

Is there even a need for an escalator here? If god forbid I ever fall off an escalator, I hope that it's this one. And I hope that it is also made out of rubber and bounces me into some type of moon bounce or mattress so that I am unharmed and emotionally unscathed.

FML

Here's a great FML post about falling off of escalators. If you haven't read FMyLife.com, I suggest you read it on a day when you could use a good pick-me-up so you can laugh at the lives of those less fortunate.

'Today, I was at the mall with my mom. She was pissing me off, so I started screaming at her and causing a scene. I ended up falling all the way down the up escalator. Everyone saw and people clapped. FML.

Comments:

1. That's because you are clearly a bad person.
2. Karma. It's a bitch... and your moms best friend.
3. you should never yell at your mom! she was taking you shopping and you screamed at her. You are so ungrateful.
4. Thats what you get for yelling at your mom. I'd clap too. Just wait till you have kids.
5. I hope you broke your face
6. i no how moms r dude... cant blame u 4 causin a scene but next time chill... i yelled at my mom once when it was my birthday and i burned myself afterwards...
7. I struggle to believe that if somebody fell down an escalator, people would clap. Life isn't a Colosseum.
8. whenever my mom acts like a bitch in public, i dont make a scene.... i wait till we get home then steal money from her wallet and punch her.
9. To bad you mother did fall down some stairs when she was pregnant with you...what a spoiled brat.
10. How old are you, 9? You screamed at your mom and made a scene in a mall? You deserve all that and more. You should've fallen down the escalator and into a coffee stand and/or a fountain.

The Worst Fake Fall EVER

Obviously this guy is a fan of the phrase "Fake it till you make it". My advice - please fall off an escalator for real soon so we don't have to witness your fake attempts.

Someone You Wish Would Fall Off An Escalator

There are some people in life that you'd just love to see fall off of an escalator. This girl is on my list. Also on my list - Sandra Bullock. She just doesn't do anything for me. And just when you think the movie is bad enough, she makes a sequel.

An Escalator I Would Never Want to Fall From

I actually can't even look at this without getting vertigo. Note to self: Never go to Yokohama Minato Mirai 21.

Madrid Woman Falls Down Escalator

Bowling fan? Every bowled using a shopping cart as a bowling ball and a person as a pin? Don't. This lady from Madrid shows you what happens when you mix shopping carts and escalators, if you can even call this an escalator, as it has no stairs. Maybe people mover?

Lady Falls Down Escalator and Does a Faceplant

I think the best part about this is the flight attendant walking down the stairs after kind of apprehensive. Plus, what did the face-planting lady leave on the escalator stair? A shoe? Her handbag? A cat? Unfortunately, we may never know.

Falling Off Escalators

My co-worker said that he was going to create a "Falling Off Escalators" website after recently finding out that videos of people literally falling off of escalators makes me laugh hysterically out loud. Especially at work. Who can resist looking at a video of that when someone emails it?

Anyway, this is a blog about falling off of escalators, which ironically is one of my biggest fears in life.
